This is the 1st portrait I clicked of a Kashmiri girl at Pehelgam.A localite told me not to click pictures of girls or women. I was trekking up the hill to a place which is locally known as Switzerland. On my way i came up to a small pasture of flat land where a bunch of kids were playing.I spotted this girl sitting on a stone taking some time out. I took out my camera and waited for the girl to look in my direction. As soon she turned towards me,she got serious.I clicked this shot and went upto the kids, asked them if they wanted their pictures clicked.I showed them this pic and they all started fighting to get their picture clicked first These kids dont have much access to technology and they probably saw their pictures for the 1st time i guess. I just feel blessed to have got this opportunity to make these kids sooo happy
Oh yeah, Kashmir was known as 'the Switzerland' of South Asia. I hope that things will get better for the people soon. And nice picture- -I like how you captured it. She reminds me of the main character of this story I'm writing/drawing. Would you mind if I use a part of this as reference sometime in the future? I'll definitely credit you.
